The Sociology Program at CSU Channel Islands offers both a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology and a Minor in Sociology.

Students pursuing the B.A. in Sociology must complete major requirements, General Education requirements, and University graduation requirements to earn their degree. Students pursuing the Sociology Minor must complete the required minor coursework. Information about the Sociology B.A., Sociology Minor, degree requirements, and academic roadmaps is provided on this page to help you plan your academic journey.

Important: Degree requirements may vary by catalog year. The requirements displayed on these pages reflect the current CSUCI catalog and may not match the catalog under which you entered the University. Students should verify which catalog applies to them and consult with their advisors when planning their coursework and monitoring their progress toward graduation.

Because degree completion involves both program-specific and university-wide requirements, we strongly encourage all students to consult regularly with both their Sociology Faculty Advisor and Academic Advising.
